There is NOTHING which says you have to use NAT. For example an Internal DSL
Modem works similar to a Dial up Modem, and you get your real ip address
onyour machine. The 3Com Home Connects, the Alcatel Home (or Pro set up like
a Hoe),Alcatel "Stingray" also give you the real ip address on your machine.
A Brought M1122 can also be set up like this (real ip address on your
machine)

Its just the Telecom Rented ones are set up in NAT mode, and you can do
nothing about this personally to change it.If you don't want it setup this
way, then just buy your own DSL Device, there are lots on the market these
days.

Thanks
