Was anybody else experienced more severe problems than
usual on 3 Jan? And, has anybody gotten any fault
report or update from Telecom regarding 3 Jan 02 ?

I had a couple dropouts that were more severe than usual
on both my ADSL lines. i.e. required rebooting *both*
Alcatel ST pro hub (on jetstream), and the host of my
Alcatel ST USB modem (on jetstart).

For the past several weeks, the hub has kept on ticking
(4.7 km from the exchange) and the worst I've had to do
with the USB modem since installing it was restart pppoa.

So having to reboot both boxes twice in one day would
seem to indicate some problem with some part of their
ATM network.

<whinge> You'd think Telecom would keep its customers
apprised--but they don't even seem to provide timely
and technically accurate/complete updates on their ATM
faults to their cooperating ISPs, much less customers.
</whinge>

Maybe I should just be happy I can stay connected for
weeks on end without having to reboot either.

Cheryl
