If you just want basic interface stats, then look at the mrtg tool called
cfgmaker (another perl script).
It will detect the interfaces on the STPro and make a cfg file for them. If
there are other SNMP based stats available (uptime, CPU usage, etc) then
you'll need to locate a copy of the MIBs for the STPro.
