Hi

I'm going back to ADSL soon after a year on cable and have a question about
what type of modem to use (used to have an M1122).

I'm running FreeBSD and have all my firewall and and NAT set up as I want it
and don't really want to change it if at all possible. I understand that I
need an external modem (no problem as I already have an external cable modem)
but I don't really need router functionality at the modem - I would prefer
that same setup as cable where the modem presents a single ethernet
connection to the firewall.

I've had a look around but can't really find much info about this kind of
thing. Are there any modems that can do this? Is this a good thing to have
or does it actually not really matter as the router can present the same
thing?

Thanks

Graham
