Hello

It would be worth checking on any roadworks in your area.
This can cause line noise, particularly if it is damp, and will
resolve
back to normal.

This is a possibility

Has anyone else experienced significant drops in line speed over
time? I've had JetStream connected for about a month. The initial
downstream line speed was about 5.1, I think. A week or so ago I
noticed it dropped to 3.2, then to about 2.7 the same day. A day or
two later it went down to 2.3 (its current speed), which is outside
the expected line speed for my connection (2.7 - 5.3). This isn't a
"fault" according to Telecom's FAQ (as below), but doesn't seem
normal to me.

Telecom's info:
For customers in urban areas, if the original installed downstream
line speed is greater than 2.8Mbits/second, a fault is considered to
occur when your downstream line speed drops below 2Mbits/second. If
the original installed downstream line speed is less than
2.8Mbits/second, a fault is considered to occur if your downstream
line speed drops to 50% or less of the installed speed. For
borderline cases, we will apply the lower of 2Mbits/second (for
upstream it is 250kbits/second) or 50% or less of installed speed, at
our discretion.

I think I'll let them know even though I'll probably get the "it's
within spec" reply.

Thanks,
Chris.
