Maxnet connection problem solved

Thanks to all those who responded. I've got my Linux firewall working
with Maxnet through the 3Com Homeconnect, and yes it was an
authentication problem. I forgot that on my own setup I had not linked
the pap-secrets and chap-secrets files. I'd put the passwords in
chap-secrets, but not pap-secrets.

It'd have been nice if pppoe had told me there was no password
available.

Sigh.

Still, one other funny that I've sort of fixed came up. The connection
was being dropped every few minutes (the longest uptime I had was 10
mins), and I started pinging things to see when it really dropped. To my
surprise the connection didn't drop while I was pinging. Hmm, a ping
every 15 secs seems to stop the link from dropping. Guess what runs in
the background now...

Vik :v)
