I am using G.Lite here, with a internal pci adsl modem (itex chipset), I am
apparently 1.8 km from the exchange, with G.dmt I get a connect speed
(downstream) of around 7.3 mbit/sec. However, I was gettting occasional
retrains (where the modem renegociates (sp?) its connect speed) which was
screwing a few things up (Telecom had already adjusted the noise margin on
my line, which helped a great deal, but did not entirely fix the
problem...). Then I tried G.Lite. I am now getting downstream connects of
3.1 mbit/sec (which does not concern me as I am only on jetstart anyways),
and the connection is *very* stable, big difference!! It now goes for days
without a retrain...*bliss*
