My Dynalink has been dropping the PPPoA link for the last few weeks which is
a pain cos you sometimes get no page errors etc when using a browser.

People have suggested its a line fault maybe.

I have set up a ping to xtras DNS server (use Xtra ISP and fixed IP address)
and found the following

If the ping repeats every 19 minutes the link stays up (I monitor using
Dynalink admin pages open on a ServerPC all the time and can see the ip
time)

It the ping is longer than 19 minutes then the link will drop depending on
how often anyone uses the Jetstream connection.

Does anyone know if Telecom has put new settings into place that would
account for this?

John
