Hi everyone
This morning my dynalink was unable to establish a connection with ihug, but
was logged into the exchange fine. The problem was that the PPPoA connection
failed to establish and I was getting no response through the WAN to the
router's attempts to connect. After trying to figure out was wrong, I ended
up resetting to factory defaults, and going thru the process to get the
settings back to NZ config - all done except configuring the IP Static
Routing as directed in the manual. When attempting to configure this part,
upon pushing the submit button the router's web interface would go to a
blank screen (no "processing.." flashed up like it normally does) and
nothing. Attempting to access the web interface after this results in
nothing. Telnetting works still, but my attempts to configure that routing
this way fail as well). This is what i get:
Network IP Address ? [] : 0.0.0.0
Netmask ? [] : 0.0.0.0
Interface ? (0: LAN; 1: ATM PVC) [0] : 1
ATM PVC ? (0: ihug) [0] : 0
Are you to add this static route ? (Y/N) [Y] : y
ip: route - unknown gateway "0:0:0:0" in route add command ""
ANyway chatting with an ihug tech after getting past the normal help desk
person, we pretty much agreed this was the problem. I have left a message on
dynalink's tech support answer phone for a call back tomorrow, but any ideas
about how to fix this before then would be appreciated (having got rid of
the 2nd phone line upon getting adsl, it's not very popular having a modem
tie up line).
Cheers
Charles
