Hi guys - I went to buy a Nokia M1122 for one of our offices so that they
could connect to our MS PPTP VPN, and found that the cupboard was bare. I
knew they were getting low and the secon hand market has dried up pretty
much completely.

Now I have a problem... I need an ADSL router (preferably with built in 4-5
port 10/100 hub/switch) that is _FUNCTIONALLY EQUIVALENT_ to a Nokia M1122
with respect to the handling of all things VPN.

Dlink, Alacatel and Dynalink refused to supply that confirmation with the
almost word for word disclaimer that "We can't provide that assurance for a
product that is not made by us"... Fair enough I guess.

DOes anyone here have any rock solid experience about what device I could
send to our office and have a not super technical person setup with over the
phone support? It is really basic. Needs only DHCP, Hub or switch, NAT, and
the ability for the 2 client PCs in the office to connect to our MS win2k
based PPTP server (RRAS).

The configs working with this so far on client sites (i.e. the techs homes):

M1122 with Jetstart, Client PC = WinXP Pro
Win2k machine with Nokia ni200 and Winroute, client pc = WinXP Pro
M1122 with jetstream, Client PC = WinXP Pro

So far I think I am tending towards either the Dlink DSL504 (for the 100Mbit
Switch!) or the speedtouch Pro with the 4 port 10mbit hub. I know the Cisco
827 will do it, but it's overkill(Too Pricey :-)

Failing that - anyone in the Auckland region wanna sell me their M1122 (Must
be an owned one - not an 0wn3d one of Telecoms! :-)... I need to decide and
buy today... I check email constantly, so please reply if you have any
suggestions, recommendations or offers of M1122s :-)

Cheers - Neil Gardner
