Hi Guys. My first post. I've had Jetstart up now for 10 days. Don't
know why I didn't do it earlier.
Re household line loads. As far as I know you are allowed up to 5
loads on a normal phone line. Whether this changes after a filter
and with an ADSL modem attached I don't know. Some devices use less
than a load, maybe .5 so you might be able to fit more.
When I had mine connected I tried a Dynalink with a Nokia filter but
the ADSL light didn't even come on. I am 5.7km from the exchange so
I thought that I was done for. Got Telecom to come in and do a line
check. They fitted their splitter at the demarcation point, put on
their M1122 and we were in business (max speed is only 250-500kb but
this is enough for my Jetstart at 128kb). I managed to source a
M1122 of my own and have been fine ever since. However I only have
one phone load after the filter. Everything else in the house
(several phones and fax machines) run into a mini exchange and this
connects to the filter. Thus no issues with loading. If you do have
this problem then you might like to consider this as a possible
solution.
