xadsl is an Xtra standard, no other ISP ive seen uses it.

Most ISPs dont segregate dialup from DSL when it comes to login - the
difference is that theres a realm (@somewhere) which lets radius know where
to forward authentication requests...

Ihugs from memory are username@adsl.ihug.co.nz - I might be wrong. Many
isps are as simple as @ispdomain.bleh.

The client should have that information, supplied when the account was set up.
