Does anyone know if those spike-protection devices have any adverse
effects on ADSL devices? IE using one of these filters between the
environment and your modem/router for protection for lightning.

"... added telecom protection for modems, fax machines, fax switches, EFTPOS
terminals, cordless phones, and answerphones etc. Filters out nasty zaps
(lightning strikes) from phone and power lines." -- is an example, they
never mention ADSL.
