Thanks to all that gave me some insite on the Ni500 issue a I am having.

I ended up calling the service agents Datacom, who have stated that they
will fix the problem (replace the unit case) for free if the unit is
still under warranty, or it will cost me $56+ GST. 2-3 day turn around.

The problem is that I don't have the original purchase receipt, and
personally I think they are trying to screw me for the $56 even though
it is a KNOWN fault with the unit.
