Hi,
Cheryl, just to make sure, if you go to http://192.168.1.2 with your web
browser, you get the DSE router config pages, right?
My questions about ipconfig and ping (and the http one above) were only to
test/prove that you had a router. Your answers won't affect the solution to
your security / Zone Alarm question.
Your answers however might cause some discussion about the DSE router in
general...
Ross, when I first read Cheryl's ipconfig output, I was confused, but this
morning it dawned on me how it might work. Can you confirm or deny the
following:
When using both the USB port and the Ethernet switch, the single PC on the
USB is on it's own subnet, 198.168.1.0/24, (that' one-nine-EIGHT) with the
router as gateway.
The PC's on the Ethernet ports are on subnet 192.168.1.0/24 (that's
one-nine-TWO) (by default, configurable) with the router as gateway.
The router routes THREE ways, between the USB subnet, the Ethernet subnet
and the outside world.
Is this correct?
Thanks,
Mark
