I actually misfired a little when I posted my response last night - I blame
insufficient sleep. :)
The fact that the line worked successfully on other logins *and that this
didnt resolve the issue* was a point to me offlist and is entirely true.
(Thanks M) :P

Strictly Speaking its Telecom's fault - not Maxnets - and therefore they
are not obligated to provide you with any additional services without you
paying for them. I would be tempted to address Telecom for a credit in
reparation for the outage time, and put the value of that credit toward
whatever costs are involved in getting you online during the outage.

I retain a per-hour-charged dialup account for this purpose.
