Situation: I have a 3Com HomeConnect Dual Link modem & Windows 2000. Jetstream was installed yesterday. I have two problems, which I think are separate, but which may be related. 1) Occasionaly the modem seems to have trouble finding the ADSL cirucit (the little LED blinks orange instead of being green) -- in fact most of last night it was doing this, but most of today it has found the circuit. 2) Every 3-5 minutes, especially with inactivity, I am disconnected -- or rather the link becomes unusable and eventually the dialler notices and tries to reconnect. While I am connected, the link works great. I have tried using the RASPPPOE dialler which is much nicer than 3Com's but still has the same problem. Craig Whitmore very kindly mentioned something about the LCP setting, but I cannot work out where to change this setting in the registry. I have tried 3Com support, which was laughable. After many hours talking to Telecom/Xtra, a Telecom service person is coming to "check the line" in a few days (may help resolve issue 1). Any help on issue 2) would be most appreciated -- I know it has been discussed here before, but not for sometime. I'm hoping there is some consensus on resolution. Cheers, David Lilienthal. +64 21 622 076 (mob) +64 9 307 3142 (tel) +54 9 307 3146 (fax) -- This message is part of the NZ ADSL mailing list. see http://unixathome.org/adsl/ for archives, FAQ, and various documents.
