RE: National Bank STILL the same problems

After voicing my similar opinions in March, which had led to me changing all
of my day to day banking to National Bank, a member of the National Bank
e-commerce team contacted me off list.

It seems that the e-commerce team have been working on this problem for a
while now (and it is a top priority), and have just not had success. If the
problem was a constant problem, rather than an intermittent problem, it
would supposedly be a lot easier to fix. I am first to admit that sometimes
National Bank online banking works perfectly, and other times it is abysmal.
Many different things have been tried to no avail.

However, at the end of the day the National Bank still has many problems, to
many DSL users. I still log-in to the National Bank occasionally, and often
have problems when using it from my home Jetstart account.

You really have two options:

1) Sit and wait, complain occasionally, be satisfied with the fact that the
National Bank are trying their best.

2) Join another bank. It really is not that hard. It took me about 3 - 4
hours of effort to move all of my banking to Westpac. This included visiting
WP, setting up about 8 APs, and changing direct debits and wages. I consider
this 3 - 4 hours of work to be well worth it, bearing in mind that WestPac
online banking works perfectly and allows you to set-up APs online.

However, I am straying off-topic for the ADSL mailing list here, and I am
sure that this thread will also be mainly off topic. Is this best taken off
list?

Dave

Subject: National Bank STILL the same problems

Even after National bank had their dirty laundry ( read incompetence)
exposed on this forum in March and in other news articles the problems still
exist. I would have thought that maybe it would spur them on to perhaps
fixing the problems with online banking but no - obviously they don't give a
damn...
(extremely pissed off after spending the last hour trying to do some online
banking and eventually giving up)
