Hi all

Just seeking the collective recommendations from the list.

My Mum and Dad are finally getting ADSL in Nelson and are wanting some advise
on which DSL Router will best suit their needs. At the moment they run a BnB
and are wanting to set it up so that they can provide access for guests on a
spare machine. Ideally they would like to have some control over the access
that machine has, and thought the easiest would be a smple management interface
which can "turn on/off" the ports on the Hub/switch. They will not be putting
in a LInux gateway or Win2K box :-) ... so any "control" has to occur on the
router/switch.

* They are wanting a standalone router with atleast 2 and upto 4 ETH ports
(pref switch, but hub OK)
* Possibly DHCP on the router ... but not essential
* Would be good if it had easy setup for Instant Messenger type clients (ICQ /
MSN etc )
* Web Interface for managing all aspects (loading firwmare upgrades etc ... and
not requiring a serial connection .. or atleast via ETH interface)
* Good statistics on usage (atleast better than my M1122!!!)

Any recommendations? I guess for them, some manner of limiting/ controlling
access at the actual router/switch is desired.

If people reply off list I will post a summary soon.

Cheers

Craig
