Well I'd suggest putting it into pptp mode,
then you can get the internet ip address into the linux box and firewall with
standard tools.
I run freebsd this way but would assume the same stands for linux, though not
sure of the pptp client to run.
For configuration I used telnet onto the m1122 to get the settings right when
I had older firmware.
