I had exactly this problem with a self install a year or so ago.

The interesting thing is that with DSE filters the phones were quiet. With
Dynalink filters ADSL did not work at all when the phone was in use.
Dynalink have since changes the type of filters they use so I do not know if
this is still the case.

Anyway, an installer owed me a favour, so I managed to get a free full
install and the problems went away. I would advice going with a full
install, if there are still problems with a full install the problem lies
with Telecom, and hence Telecom need to help. If there are problems with a
self install the problem likely lies with a 3rd party.

One thing to note in my case, the Telecom installer did nothing more than
fit a Telecom splitter. No repairs or changes were made to the phones line
in my house. Problem gone.

Subject: Jetstream and line quality

Has anyone experienced this problem: Ever since getting Jetstream setup
(self install), all the phones in the house except the one connected to the
same splitter as my router are so quiet you cant hear what people are
saying.

There are 5 phones in the house all plugged into splitters, one router
plugged into one of those splitters. When the router is not connected the
volume on the phones is better ie. I turn it off and the volume is good,
turn it on and it is still good until it authenticates and connects and then
the volume is bad again. Any suggestions how to fix this? Telecom say they
detect a 'very mild' problem with line, but prob not enough to cause any
noticable problem, let alone the one I am experiencing (I cant be stuffed
getting them out just yet, with the threat of a fee if the problem isn't
with the line). They also mentioned it may be a problem with the Router, it
is a Planet ADE4000. What do ya think?

Keir.
