Ummmmm - they should be able to adjust the line characteristics - the
impedance etc - make sure it is balanced - it will reduce your
connect speed but what the hell - they will not go below the 128
you are probably getting with JetStart (or is that JetStream Starter?).
Of course, if you are on full blown JetStream then it may affect you
actual upload speed.

Another option may be to put a "custom" filter on the line - just a thought
but worth trying if all else fails. Find out the frequencies that ADSL uses
and filter all other higher and lower ones - The splitters/filters only filter
the high stuff from the phone line for other equipment. The ADSL
equipment gets all the shit - maybe getting rid of what you do need will
help.
