Chris, can you explain how to get this setup going in more detail?

are you saying you end up with the public, isp assigned, IP on a linux
interface (ppp0 or ethx?). a brief howto would be great.

I am familiar with using a 3com dual connect in PPPoE mode and an
alcatel home in pptp mode, wasn't aware of a similar result using those
other brands.
