Frits, I'm all for sticking it up Telecom when they do wrong, but your price
comparison is not necessarily valid.

I have looked up Wired Country's retailers, and I can see a package from The
Packing Shed at $45 (128k), but it is a 1gb cap! A 5gb cap is $65. Their
other service providers are all dearer than that (well, I think that Wave
Internets is dearer, but it has a confusing page)

Subject: Poor performance of ADSL

Hi gang,

it seems that Telecom is varying the line attenuation on my phone line to
the point that the router can't establish an ADSL connection. And it's
nothing to do with some one using to phone or so.
I've did put this to the list two weeks ago and almost automagically the
attenuation dropped from 41dB to 28dB and I had a superb comms.
I did put it to my ISP but by that time the line had gone okay so they
couldn't complain to Telecom.

A couple of days ago the router started dropping out again. Guess what. The
line attenuation is back to 41dB.
Is this because I'm not with the Telecom controlled Xtra or is it because
I've my International calls with World Exchange and therefor I'm not a very
good customer for Telecom.
I'm getting very pissed off at this very expensive connection that does not
work!!
Wasn't Telecom not advocating "Alway on line" with ADSL?

If Telecom doesn't get their act together, I'm moving to Wired Country
http://www.wiredcountry.co.nz/
Lots cheaper too. $45 versus $68 per month all up.

Anybody from TELECOM listening in to this list???
Get it sorted.

Disgruntled.
