I can't imagine that Telecom would deliberately fiddle with their
equipment to reduce the condition of existing lines to the point where
DSL doesn't work any more. You say you reported the problem to your ISP
the last time it happened, but that the problem had cleared up by the
time you did. Now that it has re-occured, you should contact your ISP
and report it, and make a note of the time and date your experienced the
fault, and what the attenuation was at that time.

There are people who work at Telecom that read this list, but they are
under no obligation whatsoever to assist or respond to anything they see
here, and in fact, they are probably specifically told NOT to response,
because it's inappropriate for telecom staff to interface with their
customers directly about faults through any means other than their
faults service. That's what it's there for.

You're also unlikely to get any sympathy or help from any telecom techs
who could do a quick check of your line now that you've accused them of
deliberately screwing it up for you.

Slag Telecom off as much as you like, but don't expect them to respond
if you won't use the proper channels to complain. Log a fault with your
ISP, and emphasise that the problem is intermittant, and tell them how
often it occurs, and how often the fault lasts for.
