You seem to be addressing two different issues here: the Telecom
Jetstream usage meter (for full-speed jetstream plans and I assume the
new 256k plans - this the one where you put in your phone number and
Telecom account number) and the Xtra usage meter (for Jetstream Starter
- where you put in your Xtra username and password). AFAIK, the Telecom
Jetstream usage meter has not changed, and the Xtra usage meter has
recently changed. Previously, you had to log in to the Xtra usage meter
with "username.xadsl" to see your Jetstream Starter usage, whereas now
you have to log in with "username.xadsl@xtra.co.nz" (despite the site
saying the opposite).
In either case you can still access your usage by logging in with just
"username" and your password.
Although I have not used Andrew Connell's utility, I assume the changes
to the Xtra self-service page is what has broken it (if that's what
you're referring to).
The "first time user" refers to the Telecom Jetstream usage meter - and
it just means that your username and password are by default your phone
number and Telecom account number; the password can be changed (but not
the username).

Subject: XTRA/Telecom and Andrew Connell's excellent UsageCheck v 1.91
Reading earlier threads about the lack of internet consumption
information being available from Telecom when using UsageCheck prompted
me to seek information from Telecom. For listers who may be interested -
I am copying the message I have sent to Telecom. To be fair to Telecom I
sent off the following this evening (28th August) so I would not expect
a reply for a couple of days.

Subject - Internet Usage
I have successfully been able to use the programme 'UsageCheck' by
Andrew Connell to have instant knowledge of my Jetstream internet usage
available at all times.
I am now not able to obtain my usage detail by this means - why have you
now stopped the access method used by this programme?
I find the need to having to sign into your website usage meter a chore
- a bore and not at all user friendly. I have to stop doing what I want
to do when on the internet and keep returning to the usage meter (as
described
below) to obtain my usage information - seems a very poor way to provide
a service particularly when I do have consumption limitations imposed.
Also I have now tried a good number of times to access your website
usage meter by the means as stated within your sign-in webpage (my XTRA
userID and XTRA password) but I keep being told(directed) to the page
requesting first time users to use their phone number ad Telecom account
number when I am NOT a first time user.
Please advise
Thank you

Any one else experiencing the issues I have expressed to Telecom?
