I get this same problem with my Dlink DSL-500

I think the cause is the limited amount of memory in these routers.. The
memory fills up when you are doing a large number of nat translations.. On
the new dlink dsl firmware you can turn down the amount of time it keeps a
record in memory. Maybe a similar problem with the DSE ones?

Subject: DSE XH7916 router

I have the older DSE router here for my ADSL.

It goes great, and I chose the route to simplify work with my macs and Linux
boxes. I have a minor problem

1. Every now and then my unit seems to go to sleep, and traffic packets just
stop, I cant even access the web interface. A power reset fixes it fine.

I am wondering about performing a firmware upgrade. While I t may not fix my
issue, I wonder:

1. Is there any real benefit?

2. Has anyone heard of this problem with this unit??

If anyone has any experience with this I would love to hear your stories.
