Will an Oz supplied ADSL modem work in NZ?

Hi all

Another newbie question:

Does anyone know if an ADSL modem bought in Oz (I'm in Oz every week) will
work in NZ? I know that there have been problems with modems supplied for
European networks on both Oz and NZ networks. If there are any problems, can
they be solved by something simple like a firmware upgrade?
