Start by having the client email jetstream@telecom.co.nz. Explain the
situation e.g.

    They are a new user
They have found what caused the excess usage and put in place prevention
to avoid a repeat
They did not benefit from the data

Telecom are pretty good about this and I can understand their point of view,
they are not going to raise a credit if the same scenario is just going to
repeat.

Telecom are able to supply a log for the DSL connection which basically
shows "usage by hour", if you want more detailed stats get a firewall or
implement some other form of logging.

Think of it like this, if you got a $4000 power bill what information would
the power company be able to supply, basically two meter readings; i.e. the
user is responsible for tracking usage of pay per unit services.

Cheers

BG.
