Conniction Issues

Is anyone else having problems establishing a connection on either
their ADSL line of to their ISP over their ADSL line?

Recently I have had to reboot heaps as I am installing new
hardware and playing around with things. Usually I reboot
only about every one to two months. As I have an internal
ADSL card, this means that I reconnect at those times.

In the past the connection establishes VERY fast. The ADSL
line connects while the machine is booting and, once my mail
client is running, it "dial in" and connects to Xtra in about
2 seconds.

In the past few days this has not gone smoothly. It can take
up to 10 tries to actually connect - some times the ADSL connection
has not established and some times it is the connection to the ISP.
When I do get a connection many times I cannot actually reach any
sites at all. They all come up with server not found type messages.
Getting mail or using a browser has the same problems. When it
is a problem ICQ will not connect but often Yahoo Messenger
does. Rebooting often appears to fix it but on the occasions I have
gone and done something else, it comes right given 10 to 30 mins.

When connecting and it fails I get an unable to establish connection
message. When it connects first time or after many attempts then
cannot find a server or get mail from my domain of my ISPs mail
server does not appear to have a pattern.

Chrissy.
