Quite possibly...
However the 256k plan I don't think would help the issue. the issue is not the bandwidth (most of the time when gaming i'm only using 12 kbyte/sec max) but what the ERX is doing with the data. Only on the JSG realm where there is no rate limiting does the problem go away.

Besides what gamer in his/her right mind would switch to the 256k plans? the fact that national traffic is charged for makes that plan off limits for me. I play a lot of Battlefield 1942 and can chew through 40-70 MB per hour playing that game (download plus upload). All national traffic. It does not take that long to get up to even teh 2 GB limit. Now if national traffic was not charged for it'd be a different story i'm sure...

Oh but it can be fixed. Does anyone seriously think this isn't an effort
to get all gamers off Jetstart and onto Jetstream 256? I mean, the 256k
service only exists because telecom want to be able to say they support
Microsoft's broadband gaming requirements...

Give it 2 months and you'll start hearing things like "The 256k service
is for gamers, the 128k service is our entry level always on connection
- it's only suitable for web browsing"

I'd love to be proved wrong - but I'm not holding my breath.

Cheers - N.
