We are running a SonicWall VPN between our Auckland/Sydney/Wellington
offices and also my home in Glendene Auckland.

We had to replace the M11 in the Auckland office and tried an Allied
Teleyson but found it problematic and returned it to get it replaced by a US
Roboticts USR9003

I took this modem home, because I had taken my M112 to work to give it a
stable modem.

Had quite a bit of trouble with it locking up, but the support from the
Renaissance/US Robotics technician was great. I tried quite a few firmware
version and have now ended up with firmware that seems, touch wood, to be
stable.

According to the techie:

"...USR think that the issue is with Telecoms
REDBack servers. There was an issue a while
back in Europe where they saw a fault with
renegotiation of the ppp connection. They were
concerned that due to the high error rate you
were getting, that the renegotiation was
   been affected..."

Yours Tony P

Anyone had any experience any US Robotics / 3Com ADSL Modems? Good?
Bad? Ugly? :)
