Noticed this afternoon my Jetstart was noticeably slower than normal.
After 5.00pm it just kept getting worse and worse... I'm in Napier on
the Marewa Exchange.

Rang Xtra Jetstream help desk and they got me to do the Download
Speed tests which gave me 1800Kbs logged onto Jetstreamgames, and
25.3Kbs on xadsl. Even at 25.3Kbs it does't do justice to the
reported speed - it might go dead for 5-8 seconds, then bursts a bit,
then dead and so on.

Probable reason given: New equipment installed in Napier today means
many new Jetstart Users are getting full rate DSL until the rate
limiting kicks in later on, thus a leeching frenzy has set-in. In the
mean time the rest of us get a service quality of a wet bus ticket...

The tech I spoke to said all should be back to normal in the morning.
