If you only need to be able to log-on and control your XP machine then how about just enabling Remote Desktop on the XP box and pinholing port 3389/tcp inbound (rdp). Then you just use remote desktop connection directly to the machine.

>but the other for PPTP-GRE port 0 (number of ports 65535) doesn't work

>From memory I think there are two methods to enter ports, one has a drop-down list contaning the TCP option, the other has a blank textbox for you to enter in the protocol number. With GRE you need to specify the protocol (protocol numbr 47) as it is not TCP.

i.e.
Name internal-ip ext-port int-port num-ports protocol protocol-number
pptp1 192.168.0.1 1723 1723 1 TCP 6
pptp2 192.168.0.1 0 0 65525 GRE 47

Regan.
