I'm working on a project at present that won't work on dialup connections...
it requires bb connection speeds.

They of course don't know what I'm up to so don't perceive any reason to bend
over backwards like Telecom did for your tolls business.

I was keen to have a Telstra service in addition to my Telecom service so I
could make comment when asked what's the best option (which I will get asked
about once I'm done!)

At present my answer will be "Telstra wouldn't provide me with service when I
asked for it... we know that we can make the system work on Telecoms
network... we haven't tested it on Telstra's network, we don't know what
issues their network will present... you'd be best to stick to Telecom then
we know how to support you..." that will be enough to ensure that our users
stick with Telecom.

The project could result in us never getting more than 10 users (thou I doubt
it) or it could result in many thousands of people moving to bb access....
yes this bit is unknown (as with many IT projects) which is why it's really
silly for a provider like Telstra to turn away any potential business if you
ask me... but hay... who am I? I'm just a lonly little developer quietly
working away in a back office in the middle of now where :)

Ouch.... you mean they get away with that in this country?!

You'd get a smack on the hands for doing that in Australia these days because
it's so anti-competitive.
