The answer is yes, but it would probably be a pointless exercise. Loading
coils improve the performance of the voice frequencies that telephones use,
at the expense of the high frequencies used by DSL. They are only installed
on cables (NOT individual lines) that feed areas some distance from the
exchange - normally in NZ they would never be employed on a line less than
7000m. So even if you paid to have them removed, the cable distance would be
to great for ADSL, and all you would have achieved is downgraded telephony
for yourself and your neighbours. I might add that they are installed along
the cable at 1800m intervals, and are normally buried in the ground, so
removing them is a far from inexpensive business.
