I hear what you are saying, but how come it happens predominantly on the
small Panasonic phones. My boss is with unedin phone and filters and has no
problems.

I think it's a bit of both. i.e. the Panasonic shorts the line more and
normal adsl modem 'creates' more noise.

Hmmm, I wonder if it IS a modem problem. Considering the issue goes away
when the modem is switched off or disconnected points to the modem and the
fact that a premium quality modem (Cisco) doesn't seem to exhibit the same
issues is raising flags for me...

I wonder if the Cisco is a bit better at managing line voltage or produces
less noise or something??

Been following this off and on with little interest and didn't realise the
cordless is a Panasonic ...
we have a kx-tc1200nz...cisco 827 router...
never had any problems other than it been left out in the yard someware,and
cant find it
 Im sure that's not router or ADSL related.
But must note it does seem quite water resistant
