On this tangent (now everyones pretty well decided there's a problem of
some form), does anyone know any of the more technical aspects of the
units in question?

ie: It's well established that several units appear to fail under the
conditions of being plugged into an active ADSL line.
What about:
1) No filters? From what I've seen/heard it's doable, can be a bit
noisy in the high freq, with some interferrance, but is the volume drop
still present?
2) Anyone with some elec/telco knowledge tried reading the values ? ie:
RAL changes, impedance changes, etc.

Then after that, yeah, anyone got some ideas how to fix it? I seem to
remember from some of the electrical discussions I've had with various
people over the years one fix for noise and clean up the signal on
speakers in some equipement was to occasionally put a cap (capacitor) of
a certain value accross the line, possibly with another passive
component (? resister ? can't remember it too well).

Theory goes if someone can work out what it is, it should be a dirt
cheap circuitboard to make for fixing the prob.. That said, it wouldn't
be telepermitted... ; p
