Philip,
You should be able to connect any dsl modem to your account and
generally use any login (not withstanding what some ISPs do if you try
to log in with the wrong account type for your line type) but will have
128k speeds - jetstreamgames realm is the only exception to this where
you can get full speed. If your vpn relies on full speed then it won't
work. The rate limiting (128k) is for your line not your login.

When you say it didn't work you don't say what it did - dsl up? Get ppp
up (ie get an IP address)? Can't pass data or just get limited speed?

Cheers
Wayne

Subject: Full speed Jetsream with Jetstart.

Hi All

I have what used be called Jetstart DSL at home (128K). My work
recently decided to connect one of our remote offices via VPN over a
full speed DSL connection. After spending some time configuring the
Cisco 837 DSL router at work, I decided to take it home for the weekend
to make sure I had it all up and running before making the trip to our
remote site to install it.

I assumed I would just be able to unplug my router (Nokia M1122) and
plug this one in and make sure it all works. Well it didn't.

Plugging my router back in and changing my Jetstart credentials for the
remote sites full Xtra Jetstream credentials does not work either.

Now I assumed that because I can log onto the Jetstream games realm at
full DSL speed that there should be no problem me testing this router &
account on my DSL line at home. Could anyone tell me if I should be
able to do this before I waste me weekend trying to work out the
problem.

Thanks for your time and suggestions.
Philip chapman.
