While I would recommend the Nokia M1122 Modems, we recently had a Nokia
M1122W modem die on us recently. Although the M1122 we have at home is
still going strong :)

The Nokia M1122 modem allows you to create a PPTP connection to the
modem which (on my linux box) gives you a ppp0 and a real world address.
PPTP is much easier to get running that PPPoA, at least on linux. So
thats always an option. They can be picked up from Trademe for a
reasonable price.

Chris.
