I use zoneedit for running my DNS (first five TLD's are free), and have
ddclient grabbing the IP from the router's web interface, and updating
the dynamic dns on zoneedit.com. Much better than relying on an external
website that might go down at times and I'm not wasting bandwidth at all
for anyone, or me.

I've also got it updating various subdomains from various locations with
ddclient so I can always find the machine's I'm after.

# /etc/ddclient.conf - config for DSE XH7916

pid=/var/run/ddclient.pid
protocol=zoneedit1
use=fw, fw=192.168.1.2/doc/home.htm
fw-login=admin, fw-password=password
fw-skip='IpAddress_Value-1>'
server=www.zoneedit.com
login=myzoneeditloginname
password=myzoneeditpassword
