Speedstream 3020 and Linux?

Hi,

I'd like to get an Efficient Networks "Speedstream 3020" card to run with my
SuSE 9.1 Linux. As far as I can see, Linux finds an appropriate driver called
"lanai" for that card.

When I plug a telephone cable into the card, the LED on the back of the card
stays off (I would expect that the purpose of that LED is to show the state
of the DSL link and that would mean that within five minutes it should light
up...). Could this mean that this card is not usable in New Zealand?

I just append some output and hope someone will be able to help me...

The driver is running:

  # cat /proc/net/atm/devices

But it doesn't seem to be used:

And I can't see the card among the network interfaces:
