If I'm not mistaken backhaul is the connection between the DSLAM (well the exchange
where the DSLAM is) and to the ISP. If I'm right, the cost varies depending on how
much of Telecom's network is has to use to get there... What other prices have you
heard of? Just a though but you are ware the last mile connection i.e. the actual
telephone cable, ADSL link and associated equipement (DSLAMs etc) is not part of
the backhaul service right? This doesn't come with any traffic charge (as one
would expect) but the ISPs pay $25 or so /month/customer depending on number of
customers I think. This is detailed in the UBS documents.
