UBS delayed for up to six months (but probably 5 weeks to 3 months)

This is not a joke (it ain't April). Was informed by Juha
just recently

It isn't all horror and although it's Telecom's fault, they
aren't being evil

The main issue for those interested in the Orcon plans is probably
that of static IPs. However, since it can be done with JetStart and
JetStream & JetStream Surf, I assume it can be done with the
new i-UBS. The other issue would be additional speed caps with
different plans, e.g. that Ihug might offer. Since this can also be
done by Ihug with JetStar, I assume it can be done with i-UBS
although it might not be the best way.

One area which might be of concern for some would be
the QOS. I believe with a L2TP service, the ISP would have
more control over the QOS which might be interesting
especially for gamers etc.

And what of the legal implications of this for Telecom? Will
the i-UBS mean Telecom will be in violation of their
requirements? Since they're supposedly already in violation
does it matter? And I had thought a L2TP wasn't required by
the USB decision anyway from earlier media reports

One more thing. If it does take 6 months, that'll be March
before it's ready. March is when the 512k/128k service is
supposed to be release. May is the 1024k/128k service.
Will they be delayed?

A good thing possibly this might delay the end of the JSG realm.
