Jetstream Surf Speed Capping

I know this is probably a bit of a moot point now as this plan is going
bye-bye soon, but I thought I'd share this anyway :)

I went hard this month and got capped at ~17750 meg; 4 days after reaching
10gig limit. The connection was reset at this point (not by me or a power
outage) so I'm guessing it was just a random line drop.

Interestingly, the line also dropped 7.5hrs before this (at which point I
was at ~17250 meg) but I was not speed capped.

So based on this and what others have said, the delay on speed capping seems
to be based on time rather than reaching a certain download threshold.

On a different note, I found this on the Orcon site regarding the churn fee:

http://orcon.co.nz/products/bitstream/prices/

TRANSFER OF EXISTING ACCOUNT FEE ($99.95)
* Telecom charges these fees to complete the transfer between BitStream and
JetStream on their network.
* This fee will apply to transfers from Orcon BitStream to Telecom JetStream
and from any JetStream connection to Orcon BitStream
* Transfer fees from an Orcon JetStream service to BitStream will be waived
until 30th November 2004.

That seems to clear up & simplify this issue quite nicely.

Sam.
