Well, my thinking is that the speed capping will change due to the fact that
telecom are now doing the rate limiting on your actual initial connection
speed (to your ADSL modem) rather than deeper in the network. Although in
thinking about this, I am actually assuming that they will change the
connect speed in order to cap the speeds now, which is not necessarily the
case.

Another reason why I think that they have to find a different/faster way to
speed cap is that with 2 meg download speeds, you can theoretically download
~21 gig per day, that's an additional 60-80gig in 3-4 days!! Surely it's a
necessity for them now!!??

As for the churn fee wording. The way I read it, the churn fee is only for
going between UBS and Jetstream. It doesn't matter which ISP you're with,
the only time you're charged is when you change from UBS to Jetstream or
vice-versa. However, I must have been in an assuming mood when I wrote my
original e-mail because now I realise that Orcon may not have included
changing ISPs in their summary of the charge. But I can't see why you would
need to charge the churn fee to go between ISPs if you are staying on the
same connection (ie; Jetstream or UBS). You don't currently get charged to
change ISPs on Jetstream. Surely the traffic routing to your ISP on UBS is
done via soft/firmware changes?

It's actually quite relevant if this is how they cap the 2mbit plans (which
might not be the case but would seem likely). I would suspect most users who
expect to regularly go over 10gb would use BitStream anyway (it is cheaper)
but who knows?

Are these values from your own records or from Telecom's?

Only one thing it doesn't say. Does this mean if your with someone else's
BitStream, you don't pay?
