For the record, my line changed over to Jetstream Plus this morning, one
day later than expected.
When I checked the Jetstream usage page this morning it now says Jetstream
plus for current and next plan. My router had been online overnight (it
normally never drops the connection) so I checked the download speed - I
was still getting 256Kbit, so I switched the router off and let it
reconnect, and now I am definately getting something approaching 2Mbit.
So it looks like you definately have to allow the DSL connection to drop
and reconnect to get the new speed. (No mention of this in any of Telecom's
information - I guess they just assume that everyone has unreliable
connections that drop at least a couple of times a week ? ;-)
Also noticed that the DSL line speed change from 7616/896 to 7616/320. A
little bit puzzling that the upstream speed would drop but not the
downstream, as I was half expecting the downstream speed to drop to a bit
over 2Mbit as per Telecom's new policy of bringing the DSL line rates into
line with the plan that you're on...
Regards,
Simon
