I had similar issues and managed to speak to people at both Orcon and
Telecom over the weekend. What I managed to gather was that Telecom had
a major nationwide ADSL Authentication problem from late friday until
some point on Sunday. They couldn't / wouldn't provide an ETA to isps
during this time. Some customers who managed to get authenticated were
fine, but others found they had little or know performance from their line.
I was hit by this, poor performance and then no authentication.
Everything reset by 10am Sunday. This is really starting to get stupid.
I have had 3 major ADSL issues (all of which have been Telecom and not
Orcon) this month. Telecom aren't interested as I have bitream with
Orcon, and Orcon are getting fed up with the poor service from Telecom.
