Well, I've come home and tried a few things with the Netgear modem with
no success.
I managed to get a loan of an internal Nokia modem (or clone) and this
gives me a little more information but suffers from the same problem; I
setup the PPPoA connection but the authentication timesout. No matter
what username and password I use (my Orcon account, the jetstreamgames
realm) the authentication process timesout. I never get incorrect
username/password.
All I can do now is wait for the Telecom man....
