Unless I deeply mistaken, for all JetStream connections, Orcon (the ISP) provides you with support, e-mail, possibly a static IP (Xtra will NOT provide a static IP) and a few other things. They do not have anything to do with handling the traffic and as such if this is your only concern, do not move.

I'm not sure why your friends latency is different from you'res, assuming it was done at the precisely the same time and multiple times to rule out normal variation. Perhaps it's related to what Dslam your connected to and the servers later in the chain?

The only ISP which is able to provide it's own traffic is Ihug who also infact charge $10 less then the total Telecom Jetstream price (60+10), assuming you are willing to use Ihug for tolls. However I have no experience with their bliink packages.

However, 2mbit UBS is supposed to become available this month. Late last month Telecom were claiming it would be ready for trialing early this month but I personally don't consider it early this month anymore and I haven't heard about it being available for trialing.
